Call for Scholarship Applications in North Korea
An Opportunity for African Students
The Republic of Korea has announced the launch of the “GKS (Global Korea Scholarship) 2025” scholarship program. This initiative is aimed at nationals of Côte d’Ivoire, Burkina Faso and Niger wishing to pursue a master’s or doctorate degree at a university in Korea.
Eligibility requirements and application procedures
To be eligible, candidates must :
- Under 40 years of age.
- Fluency in English or Korean.
- Apply to an eligible university program in compliance with the eligibility criteria of partner universities.
Evening, short-term, online or distance learning programs are not eligible.

- Tuition fees.
- Round-trip air tickets.
- Study bonuses throughout the duration of the program (three years for the master’s degree and four years for the doctorate).
