Dr. Haroun Kabadi, former president of the National Transitional Council and ex-president of the National Assembly, was acclaimed to preside over the new institution. At his investiture, he expressed his commitment to carrying out his mission with “wisdom, determination and respect for the constitution”. He declared: “While I appreciate the magnitude of the task and the weight of the burden, I accept it. Yes, I wholeheartedly accept this choice of me, because it is the umpteenth call of the fatherland.”
