Although this figure remains below the record of <strong>1.6 million tourists in 2019<\/strong>, it marks a strong post-pandemic recovery. <\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Ambitious targets for 2025<\/h3>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For the year 2025, Rwanda is aiming for <strong>700 million USD in tourism revenues<\/strong>, with a particular focus on key events such as the <strong>20th edition of Kwita Izina<\/strong>, the gorilla naming ceremony, and the <strong>UCI World Road Cycling Championships<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">A diversification strategy for 2030<\/h3>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As part of its <strong>strategic vision for 2030<\/strong>, the government is aiming to <strong>diversify its tourism offering to<\/strong> include business tourism, safaris, birdwatching and hiking. The aim is to achieve <strong>over one billion USD in<\/strong> tourism <strong>revenues<\/strong> by <strong>2028-2029<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Conclusion<\/h2>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Rwanda confirms its position as one of Africa&#8217;s up-and-coming tourist destinations, combining <strong>nature, major events and strategic diversification<\/strong>.
