The ceremony was held at the amphitheater of the Ministry of Economy in Yaound\u00e9, and was attended by numerous dignitaries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">A strategic program for youth employability<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Objectives and challenges of the program<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Launched in 2018, the Professional Internship Program aims to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Strengthening the employability of young graduates<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Actively involve them in the implementation of Cameroon&#8217;s development projects<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">More than just an immersion, this internship offers practical training in strategic sectors such as infrastructure, agriculture, the environment, communication and project management.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Development of technical and transversal skills<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Interns also acquire cross-disciplinary skills in:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Economic analysis<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Monitoring and evaluation<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Gender approach<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Sustainable development<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Management of interpersonal and professional relationships<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">According to Solomane Kon\u00e9, AfDB&#8217;s acting director general for Central Africa, &#8220;the objective is to bring young graduates closer to the professional world by exposing them to demanding and stimulating environments.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Testimonies of a transformative experience<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Personal and professional impact<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Inspiring testimonials illustrate the program&#8217;s impact:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Marcelle Epoh<\/strong>\u00a0, a communications intern, highlights the importance of communication in getting communities to support projects.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Rosine Mabaom<\/strong>\u00a0, a gender specialist, highlighted social inclusion initiatives for young women in rural areas.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Adamou Massama<\/strong>\u00a0, a computer science intern, testifies to the convergence between technology and infrastructure in national development.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">An initiative to be sustained and expanded<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Strengthening the system<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">AfDB and Ministry of Economy officials reaffirmed their commitment to sustaining this initiative, which has already trained more than 354 young people. A&nbsp;<strong>digital platform<\/strong>&nbsp;is being finalized to monitor and support the various cohorts, opening up new employment opportunities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Strategic alignment with national and continental policies<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The program is part of the logic of:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Skills for Employability and Productivity Action Plan for Africa (SEPA, 2022-2025)<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Cameroon&#8217;s National Development Strategy 2020-2030<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>African Development Bank Ten-Year Strategy (2024-2033)<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Conclusion<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Professional Internship Program in Cameroon demonstrates a concrete commitment to the socio-economic integration of young people. Through the acquisition of strategic skills and leadership development, these young people become true agents of change.
