This agreement follows on from the previous program (2019-2023), which amounted to $46 million. <\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Objectives and strategic directions<\/h3>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This program aims to <strong>improve the socio-economic prospects of young women and men<\/strong> through two major projects:<\/p>\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Strengthening sustainable food sovereignty<\/strong>: This project targets socio-economic resilience and the fight against climate change in the Sine Saloum region.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Optimizing the healthcare system<\/strong>: The focus is on developing healthcare infrastructures in several regions of the country.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Alignment with national priorities<\/h3>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This program is part of Senegal&#8217;s <strong>National Development Strategy (SND) 2025-2029<\/strong>, which aims to :<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Build an endogenous economic model based on territorial development clusters.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Enhance the quality of human capital and ensure greater social equity.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Promote national stability and regional integration.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Promote good governance, scientific research and technological innovation.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Develop adequate financing for the economy.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It also contributes to the national objective of improving the <strong>health insurance system<\/strong>, with the ambition of extending departmental units and enabling <strong>1.5 million Senegalese women to access universal health insurance<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Conclusion<\/h3>\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This partnership between Senegal and Belgium illustrates a strong commitment to the country&#8217;s socio-economic development.
