This network is said to have circumvented the classic payment procedures via the&nbsp;<strong>one-stop shop<\/strong>&nbsp;, thus allowing the misappropriation of public funds to the detriment of the State.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In a statement broadcast on national television, the authorities indicated that an amount exceeding&nbsp;<strong>700 billion Guinean francs<\/strong>&nbsp;had been illegally captured by this fraudulent system.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Arrests and serious charges<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Those arrested, now in detention at Conakry prison, are being prosecuted on charges including:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Forgery and use of forgery<\/strong>\u00a0,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Corruption<\/strong>\u00a0,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Embezzlement of public funds<\/strong>\u00a0,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Illicit enrichment<\/strong>\u00a0,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Money laundering<\/strong>\u00a0,<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Complicity<\/strong>\u00a0.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Conclusion: A strengthened fight against corruption<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This crackdown on the Customs Directorate marks an important step in the fight against corruption in Guinea.
