An Initiative to Support 10,000 Rangers
At a United for Wildlife Foundation summit in Cape Town, South Africa, on November 5, Prince William unveiled the Ranger Welfare and Standards program , a five-year initiative that aims to provide 10,000 African rangers with life insurance tailored to their profession, including medical evacuation coverage .
“These men and women don’t just protect wildlife. They educate, support their communities and promote the sustainable use of resources. We can’t protect our planet without them,” Prince William said.
The project is a collaboration between United for Wildlife , the Game Rangers Association of Africa , and the charity Tusk Trust .
